Lawyer, Legal Advisor
Michael Edward Frederick Parramore, born on 4 May 1950, studied law at the University of Rotterdam and University of Utrecht. He passed his final examination in 1978. This was followed by traineeships with the law firms Boekel, Van Empel and Drilling, in Amsterdam, and Moskowicz in Maastricht. He was primarily concerned with civil and criminal law during this period.
He established his own law firm on 1 December 1981 in Amsterdam, which initially concentrated on criminal law. His practice developed over the next nine years and increasingly began to focus on civil law. It also grew to become a practice with six lawyers and several support staff. The firm supervised many international transactions during the nineteen-nineties, in cooperation with correspondent law firms in the United States, Curacao and Thailand.
As then, the practice continues to concentrate mainly on providing legal assistance to small and medium-sized companies. Examples of the type of assistance provided include drafting and explaining general terms and conditions, agreements and all kinds of matters an entrepreneur may have to deal with in business. Employment law is a special area of attention and among the firm&rsquos clients is a large legal assistance insurer.
In 1998 he decided to reduce the size of his firm in order to concentrate more on the legal profession, rather than management issues. Since returning to being a one-man business in 2006, the firm has also specialised in providing legal assistance in corporate takeovers.
With the aim of assisting internationally oriented entrepreneurs in the Netherlands as well as abroad, the firm recently joined an international network of European lawyers, United Legal Network (ULN), www.united-legal-network.com.
